Thursday’s unenforceable vote to demand escalation of sensitive Mueller documents

House to escalate Mueller document demand with Thursday vote

  1. House to escalate Mueller document demand with Thursday vote

The House is voting on June 28th, 2018 on a measure scolding the U.S. Justice Department for withholding critical documents that Republicans say are connected to special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation.

Although the resolution is unenforceable it would put the Republican-led House on record demanding sensitive DOJ documents, and escalating the confrontation that has so far been confined to only a few powerful House committees.

The resolution accuses the DOJ of “non-compliance” with House subpoenas, including those issued by the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees, and is demanding the agency to turn over all requested documents by July 6.
