LATimes.com – “Mueller’s steady, relentless probe is complicating Trump’s efforts to spin the Russia debate, cutting off some of his favorite lines of defense and forcing him to adjust his attacks.”
Trump tweeted 15 times over a 19-hour period, including his tweet suggesting the FBI was too “preoccupied with the Russia probe” and missed the clues from accused gunman Nikolas Cruz, but provided no evidence to back up the assertion.
He also said, “I never said Russia did not meddle in the election,” ignoring his own past repeated assertions to the contrary.
The latest Mueller indictments make it more difficult for Trump to shut down the probe as a waste of time or money, by firing Mueller or Deputy Attorney Gen. Rod Rosenstein, as recent reporting had suggested the Trump wants to do.
